Tufted Carpet

Tufted carpet is woven of clusters of yarn fibers through the backing fabric on the tufting machine.
Yarn fibers can be wool, nylon, polypropylene or a blend of these.
A secondary backing is usually glued on for extra strength and stability.
The majority of wall to wall carpet on the market is tufted carpet because it is cost–effective with fast production, good performance and variety of styles.
From fiber construction, tufted carpet can be distinguished to level loop pile carpet, multi level loop carpet, cut pile carpet and cut and loop carpet.
